With crystal clear water and good size shoals Camp lake is in a beautiful setting in Eskers Provincial Park. A 45 minute drive from Prince George and a hike of ~ 2.5Km from the parking lot will take you to this ideal float tube lake.
The fish are plenty and you can expect to catch many rainbows, the odd brook trout and kokanee. You will catch ~10 rainbows for every brook trout. The average size is ~ 11 inches with the larger fish around 15 inches. The fish are a little skinny though.
Effective fly patterns for this lake include the Maroon Leech #2 or Furry Dragon nymph. I fish both these flies using a type III full sink line. Otherwise try to match the hatch.
Another lake to consider is Kathy Lake a further 3.5Km hike into the park, but it has bigger fish.
